A winner of six straight matches, St.
Pierre is considered to be among the top pound-for-pound
fighters in the world, holding wins over notables including
BJ Penn, Jon Fitch, Matt Hughes and Alves.

UFC welterweight champion
Georges St-Pierre has been unstoppable since regaining the
title in 2008, and he aims on extending his reign and his
six fight winning streak against British bomber Dan “The
Outlaw” Hardy, who is unbeaten in the UFC and fresh off wins
over Marcus Davis and Mike Swick.
Dan Hardy is known for his ability to play pyschological
games with his opponent and a rapidly improving all-around
game, the flashy Brit has won 12 of his last 13 matches and
has a career mark of 23-6.
Shane Carwin vs. Frank Mir (for interim heavyweight title)
As well, former two-time champion Frank Mir (13-4 MMA, 11-4
UFC) and No. 1 contender Shane Carwin (11-0 MMA, 3-0 UFC)
will meet for the UFC's interim heavyweight title in the
co-feature of the now-official UFC 111. Carwin is an
experienced wrestler with strong boxing skills. Mir has a
black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and is also well versed in
muay thai, boxing and kenpo karate.
Carwin, who has yet to taste defeat in his pro career,
racking up 11 wins. Remarkably, all of his victories have
come via first-round stoppage. The 34-year-old former
collegiate football and wrestling star vaulted to the No. 1
contender ship in March with a knockout over Gabriel
Gonzaga.
Carwin had been scheduled to face Lesnar at UFC 106, and
then UFC 108 before the current champ was forced to withdraw
with a serious intestinal disorder.
Although the UFC was once a frequent guest in New Jersey and
the Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort in Atlantic City earlier
this decade, only one event has been held in the Garden
State in the past four years: UFC 78. The event, headlined
by Rashad Evans vs. Michael Bisping and also held at the
Prudential Center.
